Seller information in Google sellers.json file

A new notice has appeared in the Google Adsense bar with the following content:

We recommend that you publish your seller information in the Google sellers.json file. You can see if it is displayed now in your account settings

Sellers.json. What is it?

Sellers.json is a file, along with ads.txt and app-ads.txt, it is designed to counteract cyber fraud associated with contextual advertising, namely, with situations of unauthorized sale of resources and forgery of domains. Sellers.json is another step towards the fight, but it uses a json format rather than a text file.

What Sellers.json contains

Sellers.json contains the following fields:

  1. publisher id, which begins with pub- and contains a 16-digit number. This data is also contained in ads.txt,
  2. is_confidential. If the publisher has hidden the information, the name and domain will not be presented.
  3. name – seller’s name or company name,
  4. domain – domain.

How to add data to sellers.json file

  1. Sign in to your Google Adsense account,
  2. Go to Account -> Account Information
  3. Enter the company domain in the free field. The company domain is the domain of your legal entity. It may not be the same as the domain of the site on which the advertisement is placed.
